Random Thoughts From Home

Only half our family but we look good! This is in front of the Hill Cumorah statue. It was beautiful but not as gorgeous as our family. Amazing to get the attention of everyone for the picture isn't it? So much to tell you but I'm going to do it in increments, otherwise I'll go crazy.
But I want to start by saying that although I've had a crazy day I went to the library this morning and got 3 books on Amish cooking. And yes I got the recipe for 'STICKY BUNS'. It's out of a book called 'The Best of Amish Cooking' by Phyllus Pellman Good. I will try the recipe out probably Wednesday morning and let you know what I think. If you'd like to try it yourself let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. I'm not sure of recipe rights when it comes to books and such so we'll play it safe. I do so admire the Amish and their work ethic and I thought I'd try to discover recipes for some of the goodies we had in New York.
It was a glorious vacation and Dad and I are still recovering! I went to the garden this morning and picked, with Sue and Byron's help two huge bowls of green beans. Unfortunately the majority of them had gone woody so I'll probably only get about 5 pints. But I'm ready for the rest of the green beans. And our tomatoes are starting to come on as well. It's going to be a busy end of summer and autumn! Isn't it great when your day is full and you can't get it all done? It means your life is very full to overflowing and you should be grateful! I love you all and wish you a great week! Mom
